Anyone here have specific formulas for dyeing cloth? I've been working up a few and while they're not quite perfect, they're pretty damned good. I don't have them on me, but I might be able to upload a picture of what the 'grass' I made looks like.
Basically I started out with the burlap, and tearing it apart, then I gave up. I bought some Jute twine, with 3 strands woven together, and it was the finest (thinnest) I could find. It makes really nice blads of grass. The trick I found to unravelling the twine was to cut it into a lenth about 1.5m, then hold onto the end of one strand with my left hand, then with my right hand just slide the other two strands along it and down and off. Then I slide those two apart the same way. It worked like a charm, though a time-consuming charm, it's easier than my other tries (tieing a weight to one end, then holding the string up and spinning it until it's all loose - not easy!).
I'll try and get a picture and post my green formula tomorrow.
Please keep the board alilve!

How many (squares) did you rip strings of, for the ghillie suit?
